Ariel rocked her studio boudoir session at Bourbon and Pearls Boudoir in Greentown, Indiana with her great tattoos and bright green hair.
Angela | Studio Boudoir
Sultry. Or smoldering. I’m not sure which word best describes the look and vide that Angela brought to her boudoir studio session. When we first started Bourbon and Pearls Boudoir, we had a vision to produce both darker images (the bourbon) and some lighter (the pearls). We’ve mainly shot with the bourbon look, and sessions like Angela’s reaffirms why the bourbon lighting will likely always be our signature look. Angela selected some great outfits from our client closet. We have so many outfits that Jamie got for our studio that clients very, very rarely wear the same outfit. And for the ones that get worn, those are always washed and sanitized before going back in the closet. Same with our satin sheets, which we have available in a number of colors.
Angela shared the following about her session experience:
I have always wanted to do this type of photos for myself, I am so glad I was introduced to Raul & Jamie. They are amazing people and no matter what your going through they treat you and make you feel like you are so special. On the day of my photo shoot I was so nervous, but from the moment I arrived they made me feel at home. My photos turned out so well I was so happy with them. Raul is very professional and made me feel so comfortable that my shoot was a success. They have a set assistant that is very helpful as well. I can’t wait to one day have another session.
We love the four photos below, which are some of the ones Angela picked out during her post-session reveal. The lollipop theme is “supposed” to have a seductive feel to it…and we got those shots for sure…but it’s also a lot of fun when clients burst out in laughter as Angela did. The one other studio prop that also gets a lot of smiles and laughs is our spreader bar that we use for Fifty Shades themed segments. The star field effect on the third image was created by zooming the lens out during a longer exposure as the camera was mounted on a tripod.
Angela’s session reminds me that we need to use this chair more often in our shoots. It resides these days in the corner of Jamie’s office, but we’ll have to bring it out for a cameo every now and then. We got some great shots of Angela as she looked up toward the camera while I was standing on a step ladder. Love that last image in this series, and we also got a great one with me shooting down and behind her.
We also pulled out the paper backdrop in our studio and did a set with Angela in this lovely blue outfit. What a great session! We got a variety of looks, and it was a blast working with Angela. I hope for another session with her down the road.
Angela shared that she has most of her prints proudly displayed on her bedroom wall. One of her favorite prints is displayed in a great frame which rests on her piano.
