Angela | Outdoor Boudoir

We loved creatively-themed shoots, and Angela’s warrior outdoor session was a delight to photograph! Angela drove from Illinois with some impressive swords and axes, and we took advantage of the wonderful outdoor setting at the farm of Heather, one of our friends.

About the session, Angela shared:

I was very nervous about doing any photos of myself. I don’t consider myself pretty in any sense of the word. When I arrived Raul and everyone involved from the beautiful and funny make up woman, to the wonderfully sweet woman helping me choose outfits and dress were absolutely wonderful, they were professional but still friendly, encouraging and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! They let me be me, didn’t try and make me fit into the typical sultry boudoir experience. I have never felt beautiful but they helped me feel fierce, free, strong and amazingly beautiful, which I was not expecting! If you are thinking about doing a shoot I say go for it! Be you! Because there is nothing more freeing. Bourbon and Pearl’s Boudoir photos are exquisitely freeing and will make you feel stunningly beautiful.

As the photographer, I especially liked it when Angela shared, “They let me be me, didn’t try and make me fit into the typical sultry boudoir experience.” Every session we do is different, and that’s partially because clients bring different personalities to the session. Part of me wanted to write that clients also bring different goals for the sessions, but most clients…the vast majority…come to us without having the first clue about what outfits to wear, what poses to strike, or even what looks and expressions to make. Thankfully, we don’t fit you into a mold. We start with you and then move comfortably forward helping you find your voice in the photo session. As AI continues to grow, even in the area of photography, we like to celebrate the human element of boudoir experience.
