Hannah | Outdoor Boudoir

Despite being a lot more work for me as a photographer, I LOVE the outdoor boudoir sessions we offer here at Bourbon & Pearls Boudoir! Hannah brought plenty of style and attitude for her session at the farm of Heather, our friend. That’s the location where Sebastian the donkey serenades our sessions from time to time from his part of the farm.

Though we were shooting at the worst possible time — early afternoon with direct, overhead sunlight — we found shade in the wooded portion of the farm. Thankfully, the lights I use are powerful enough to light our clients both in the sun and in the shade.

The cherry shot was a fun one! We play with lollipops in our studio sessions, but we should do more with fruit and the like, maybe even popsicles on our warmer days.

Before we headed out to Heather’s farm, we grabbed a few shots at our home studio, which includes a way-too-comfortable queen sized bed. The lighting in these images are part of Bourbon & Pearl’s signature look, especially the second image below. The key is to have the light coming from the side. This adds drama. And mystery. And for some clients, it also helps conceal some things in the shadows.

This last shot was the first time I attempted to use my iPhone as part of a session. I’ve since upgraded my iPhone, so I’m looking at what other shots we can create with an iPhone and a mirror.
