Wendy | Dungeon Boudoir

Since we launched Bourbon & Pearls Boudoir back in 2021, I have likely taken more photos of Wendy than any other client we’ve had the privilege of working with. Part of that is because she has done a number of sessions with us. And part of that is because her shoots have been some of my most creative exercises as a boudoir photographer. We have shot in our classic boudoir studio, on a lovely farm, in our swimming pool, and for this session, we went to a BDSM themed dungeon that we have special access to. More on that below. But first, here’s what Wendy had to say about her session experience with us:

I have done 4 sessions and I can’t wait to do more. I feel like the most beautiful woman in the world I’m sexy. I’m empowered. I’m beautiful. I look at the photos and think dam I’m hot. lol. I love doing the photo shoots. I can’t say it enough. They are better when my husband Adam or my friend Rachel jumps in a few. What fun.

The dungeon is equipped with a handful of stations including a St. Andrew’s Cross, a spanking bench, and some other bench that is made for sitting while being restrained, or at least that’s how we used it. There was also a suspension bar that was custom made by a talented metal worker whose creations have appeared on a number of prominent late night programs during entertainment and talent segments, but that’s another story.

We don’t have a lot of images from the session to share here, because of, well, just because. But the ones immediately below were shot not in the dungeon itself but in another part of the historic factory in which the dungeon is located. This specific location is a corner of the first floor used for storing vintage autos, most covered in a thick layer of dust, and some in parts…and for me as a photographer, that presents a unique shooting environment. The manager of the dungeon was kind enough to install restraint support hardware from one of the wooden beams in this car corner, and that’s how we got the shots below. I used a light with a red gel (a plastic sheet) to turn the background of the images red, and then a simple side light to create a more dramatic lighting effect on Wendy. Adam, Wendy’s husband, joined her for the 3rd image in this series.

I did something very different with the two photos below: I shot them using only the light available instead of using my portable studio lights as in the images above. The tungsten glow from the light bulbs turned the scene a warm orange. I then created some black and white versions as you see in the second image.

Wendy was brave enough for some wax play as her husband poured blue wax on her. That was a lot of fun for me to capture the wax as it fell toward her. Wendy probably had less fun than I did, I’m guessing, because that wax turned out to be pretty hot!

If you are interested in doing a BDSM session, or what we like to call Fiddy Shades, then please reach out to us. Of course, we could book a session in the dungeon if it is available, but there is a lot that we can also do at our home studio. There, we have a collection of props including wooden paddles, floggers, handcuffs, 4-point restraints, a spreader bar, and even a restraint system for our queen-sized bed.
